Re: OFFICIAL 2010 BMX Museum comments and progress pics and mumbo jumbo...

i have a Hot Streak about 90% done, with some parts on the way to make it complete...
last time i wanted to enter a bike "almost done" i got some slack for it and decided not to.
i also have a StreetStyler about 60% done, but i dont want to rush it... its gonna be purty!!! tongue

QUESTION: can i enter something about 90% done?

other then that, i know some people need decals for some of these builds, I might be able to help.
PM me, email me at request@ultrahive.com, or come shop the HIVE http://ultrahive.com

thx cool

Hey RADBandit, can't wait to join in.  Your last Winter build off was the first one I ever submitted to and I had a blast.  Will post my frame and fork tomorrow.  Great looking projects so far everyone!

The paint isn't perfect but the decals are in awesome condition... Check my bikes to see it built up... that is a nice survivor condition frame.  The fork has already been done, it wasn't original to the frame.

Re: OFFICIAL 2010 BMX Museum comments and progress pics and mumbo jumbo...

This is going to be fun doing this build with my 9 year old son.  He will have 100% say in what parts and paint go on the bike.  I picked up a very hammered-on '87 Redline 400c.  I know that it isn't considered a highly-desired exotic or top-shelf bike, but you don't see too many of them around or in the museum.  When the bike is completed it will be one of my son's riders...  Good luck to everyone.  I can't wait to see the finished bikes!

Re: OFFICIAL 2010 BMX Museum comments and progress pics and mumbo jumbo...

Progress pics!  lol

A couple of days ago it looked like this...
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n36/pete355/rims021.jpg

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n36/pete355/rims022.jpg

Lots of 30+ year old dirt, rust and cobwebs, and a little original paint under the spray paint. Unfortunately nowhere near enough to save. So it's stripper time!
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n36/pete355/stroker012.jpg

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n36/pete355/stroker013.jpg

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n36/pete355/stroker019.jpg

Found something interesting...
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n36/pete355/stroker015.jpg

Here's the drive side...
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n36/pete355/stroker014.jpg

Notice the missing weld? Either it was a Monday or a Friday at Two Wheelers, or maybe they purposely left off that weld for sprocket clearance? I don't recall if that weld was there or not on the Stroker I restored a few years ago. I think it was there, but I've hit my head many times over the years ... lol  Any Stroker experts out there?

There are some really cool bikes going together in this build-off...it's going to be quite an honor for the 12 that make it in the calendar.

Re: OFFICIAL 2010 BMX Museum comments and progress pics and mumbo jumbo...

started gathering parts for my mid school entrey. my Ida is to spend no more than $28.00 per  part if I can. most stuff is bought from members on here. but some parts like wheels in mail wear traded for. any ways I really want to use the small grave yard sprocket. but then the stock 990 AD mounts mite not work. so I have a huff man AD adaptor plate for the top. or a ACS brake set. might just go front brake only its  a mide school .so that would fit the theam/build.
