1992 Balance

Short story, this was a budget build. The most I have in this is my time. All parts were in serious need of resto either too many hammer marks, shot chrome, ect...  The colors were picked my wife which I'm happy she's finally showing an interest. Any way the parts:

1992 Balance twin top tube frame
        Schwinn Forks
        Dyno bars
        Dia-compe Bulldog breaks
        Odyssey Gyro and cables
        Tecktro Levers
        Viscount Dyna seat
        Skyway Tuff II's(dyed them myself)
        Takagi Tourney Cranks
        Yst Bottom bracket
        Club Roost pedals
        VEE Rubber tires

Rides good, just need to dial everything in.

Re: THE OFFICIAL 2014 BMXMUSEUM COMPLETED "FREESTYLE" THREAD

1985 Schwinn Predator Free Form

This bike was a build for my son who didn't want a Mountain or Road Bike to take with him to college.
He really loves the mid 80's freestyle bikes and finally convinced me to build him one to cruise the Iowa State Campus.
I had this Predator frame lying around and I love to repurpose everything, so this is what we came up with.

Thanks to a superfast turnaround at the powdercoat shop and my internet speed shopping abilities wink we completed this build in just 8 days.
Also, Big Thanks to the Frame Doc for straightening the steer tube on the forks at the absolute last minute!

Specifications:
Schwinn Predator Free Form Frame and Forks completely stripped and Powder coated in White.
Skyway EZ Bars and Odyssey Lay Back post also completely stripped and Powder coated in White.
Sugino Cr Mo Cranks, Skyway Turbo Disc, Odyssey Twisted PC Pedals, KMC chain and Schwinn Bottom Bracket.
Viscount Dyna seat, ACS Stem, Tange Seiki Headset and OURY Grips.
Skyway Tuff 2's with Odyssey 90PSI "Path" Skinwall Tires.
Odyssey Mono lever and Dia Compe 750 Center Pull rear Brake w/ Kool Stop Vans.

Re: THE OFFICIAL 2014 BMXMUSEUM COMPLETED "FREESTYLE" THREAD

Here is a 1987 Visage Pro Action that I finally found early this year after looking for about 3 years and got to work on it right away. The plan was to refresh {clean, repaint, polish and chrome some parts not all} meaning I did not want a complete restoration on it. My uncle had one in the born on days and I could remember the frame being an awesome hybrid A master piece frame to see in person being all 4130 and made in the USA. This is one of my favorites of many that I own. Enjoy Guys

Re: THE OFFICIAL 2014 BMXMUSEUM COMPLETED "FREESTYLE" THREAD

1987 CW California Shaker

NOT A MAES TRIBUTE BIKE

My first intention was to make an EXACT Copy of Ceppies Drum Hub bike, Yes its been Attempted but all the Tribute bikes are missing the Custom Stuff that Ceppie added to his bike

Such as the Custom Bracket welded to the front forks and Brake Cable Guides added to the down tube for the rear brakes, The ones I have seen Usually use the Chrome strap that comes with the Drum Hubs for the front forks and for the down tube Black Zip ties

But after seeing all the Original CW parts that had to be removed to make the Custom Maes bike, I thought "Why Not Make a Maes Bike using all the CW parts?"  Something like the MIKE BUFF EDITION but make it a FACTORY Ceppie Maes Edition

I would like to Thank Juan Mattos, Jeff Haney and all the guys at CW Revcore with all there help on this build, it came out Beautiful

Special Thanks to Juan Mattos for dealing with all my emails and calls, Juan and Jeff are Cool dudes, Thanks guys your the best!!

Also BMX Museum Member Butlerglc for helping restore the Zrims by blasting off the old dirt and explaining to me how to repaint the Logos and restore the rims with WD 40, They look new

Parts list

Custom Work done :

Bracket Welded onto front forks
Cable Guides Welded onto down tube for rear brakes
Ceppie Maes Autograph Sticker Made

CW PARTS :

Frame, Forks, Bars
Stem
Seat
Seat Post
Sprocket
Pegs
Pedals
Tires

ACS :
Z Rims
Pro Rotor , figured if CW contracted ACS RIMs and Levers, Why not the Rotor?
Locking Brake Levers

AME Grips

Sturmey Archer Drum Hubs

DiaCompe Seat Clamp

PRIMO Cranks and Sealed Bearings

Comes with your choice of Chrome, Pink or Black Pegs, seat, grips

I tried it with Pink grips, but the Ame grips were just to light of a pink color to work with the other pinks

I hope the pictures show up, Im new to this copy and paste stuff

Re: THE OFFICIAL 2014 BMXMUSEUM COMPLETED "FREESTYLE" THREAD

1997 S&M Sabbath "BURNT"

Started with a Raw frame, completely sanded to remove all blemishes, pits, metal marks ect. Progressively smoothed out, polished it up, which was hard to do on 4130, to a mirror like shine. But I wanted to do something unique.  So I burnt it!!  Gave it the weld burn look, but exaggerated.  I also did the forks, handlebars, cranks, and seat post.  A lot of time into this bike/parts.  Think it turned out amazingly different.  Polished the Redneck stem and Engine Turned it. Polished the pedals.  Stripped and brushed the chain wheel and seat clamp.  90% of bike was stripped, smoothed, polished, brushed, engine turned or "burnt".  Really wanted to make a true 1 of a kind bike.  Think I accomplished that.  Makes the hobby fun, doing something different.

Originally the bike was going to be for my daughter, and I was going to strip and paint the frame & forks. I mocked up the bike but she didn't like it - too heavy for her.

I started woking on a Dyno Compe for her and wasn't going to build up this bike, but I threw it together over the weekend.

1984 GT Pro Performer
All OG finifsh, and OG decals used to build her up. Not a "as found survivor", but all survivor parts were used.
This is the earliest "original" finish Pro Performer known. There is one other that has an earlier serial, but it has been re-finished. These "unstamped" GT Pro Performers have some what of a cult following. I built this up as if it were Feb. 1984, hence no potts mod or detangler device.

feb 84 GT Pro Performer (unstamped) frame and fork
GT Pro Bars, unkurled
ODI Mushroom II's
DK stem
GT Epoc headset
DC MX 900 front, w/ Kool stop pads
DC MX 1000 rear w/ Skyway pro pads and fins
DC Tech III levers
Tuf Neck clamp
GT Lay back post
Kashimax Aero seat
Redline 401's w/ Sugino disc, and chain ring
MKS Graphite pedals
ACS "Mike Buff" Z rims w/ ACS Z Hubs and Black Asahi spokes
GT tires
Izumi chain
First Gen GT tube ride pegs
