2016 FBM Steadfast 22

Just put this thing together. Feels good so far!

I love my 20" Steadfast so when I saw they were going to do a 22" version I sold my ATF and preordered one. Finally got it put together and it rides like a Cadillac. Haven't had a chance to hit the trails yet but I have no doubt it'll be a beast.

Re: 2016 FBM Steadfast 22

Hey man, great build. I am in similar situation, getting ready to replace ATF 22.165" TT after three seasons of 'not so smooth' relearning how to ride. I was looking at the Steadfast or just replace with another ATF, just curious if you have taken it out on DJ's yet? How tall are you? Any aspect of the AFT you miss?

Thanks

I took it out to walnut creek not long after I put it together, but I didn't get too crazy... Honestly, the ride difference between the Holmes and the ATF was very noticeable, but the difference between the ATF and the Steadfast, not so much.  I'm using mostly the same parts I had on my ATF (bars, wheels, cranks etc.) so the overall feel is obviously not that far off. I did move from 25:10 to 28:10 gear ratio, and that's the biggest difference I feel on the thing.  At 5'10 the large ATF was probably a little too big for me so the Steadfast feels a little bit tighter and more solid.  Also, I just prefer the welded brake mounts and higher standover, on the FBM.  Other than that the geometry isn't far off and they're both pretty similar in terms of quality.  I don't regret getting rid of the ATF but If you like yours, the difference with the FBM might not be worth making the switch.  Hope that helps.

Re: 2016 FBM Steadfast 22

Im currently waiting for my Steadfast 22 to be made in this current batch. This bike is giving me a lot of inspiration for the build. How do you like those wheels? Can you swap out driver sizes? I'm concerned about the ratio being too tall at 28-30 x 9 and chain clearance with the chain stay brakes.
