Not sure if the metal polish post is a joke but personally I'd leave it alone. Ya' don't polish old valuable  coins either.

I'm sure it was on Alan's part, his whole thing is original finish.

No way I'd polish it either.

That just shows what an idiot you really are.  Like Alan or not, his Nomura is a killer bike that many here, including myself, would love to own.

And you're just trolling here, looking for an argument.

What actually happens to Ambrosio rims when you actually ride on them.

Looks like a good reason not to ride those 35 year old rims.

Quoted from your  current Raleigh topic, post #3

AlurencatBMX wrote:

any way, I will confess I will not be riding this. It's old, probably quite delicate and I am too heavy for it, plus it's far too short. So it'll be a bit of queen.

You've also posted that you were afraid to ride your new Buff Ripper for fear of breaking it due to your weight.  Those are all valid reasons to not ride a particular bike.  But those same reasons also apply to other people & their bikes.  Alan's Nomura is a very rare & as history has shown, a fragile aluminum frame.  It's also a very expensive setup, with all period correct parts.  As it sits, it might be worth more than all your bikes combined.  Many members here drive cars that cost less.

In your Raleigh topic you mentioned building that bike to just smile at.  Nothing wrong with that.  I call it bike art.  Many here including myself have done that.  Alan's Nomura fits that category as well.  Personally I'd rather look at a nice bike than the Davinci that just sold for $450 million.

I just don't see how you can bash him for not riding his Nomura, when you have good reasons for not riding some of your bikes.  Just makes you look like a judgmental jerk.

Might still be looking for a pair.  He's been posting that same picture forever.  I think that's his old set that he sold.

Says he'll be looking for a set of them next year.  As much as they cost (when you can find them), he might not be able to spring for a set until after Christmas.  That's understandable.
