1979 Rampar R9

This bike was used in the Boston, Mass. Raleigh plant for parts selection, color selection, trade shows and other uses. It was never sold to the public. When the plant shut down in the early 80's, it was taken home by a Raleigh employee and it sat in his basement until early this spring when I bought it. It is 100% a survivor and a time capsule from the late 70's.

Awesome Raleigh. Pretty much everyone would trade a vital body component to own that!

Sweet bike. Worked in a Raleigh shop and we had 3 of these. Never knew why their factory team didn’t use this frame? It was a lot lighter than the Team Rampar! Nice piece of history!

Re: 1979 Rampar R9

Not sure if you are still active on here. I am located in NYC / Boston. I have had an R9 since I was the second owner in the early 80’s. It was stripped of paint and I just have the frame and fork. Have been thinking of restoring it but pretty much no way to find the parts I assume. Let me know if you have a list of what is on an original one as well how I might get the color replicated. Thank you.
