I've been wanting to put a new GT Mallet on mine too. Holding out for a white one. But the black one looks amazing with those Kneesaver bars.

Everyone has been waiting for the white mallet for roughly a year, doubt they will ever become for sale individually.

I got mine. I'm sure the guy I bought it from bought a complete just to get the stem though.
Now my bike is almost identical to the setup I rode in 89 (except the geo on my 18 is SO much better!)

Re: 2017 Haro Master/Haro Sport Thread

Yeah, My BrickHouse stem is a lot like a modern Mallet.. But a much shorter reach.

But I still kinda want a GT one instead.

Yes I did. I rode the La Bastille for a while but couldn't get used to the aggressive headtube angle. The whole thing felt like I was riding a zero offset fork. For the kind of riding I do, the 74.5 HTA of the Master is perfect.

Mine was originally silver but I powdered it black. You guys should just buy any color mallet and powder it white if you need white. Good thing about these retros is you can do whatever you want with them, without fear of "losing value". Here's another mallet I powdered candy Blue for my retro TA:

White mallet pop up on ebay as take off's you just have to be willing to pay $120.  Thats 50 more than a silver but buying silver then paying to powder puts you back at $120

I had a guy powder a set of hubs for me for $30. I can't imagine a stem being more.

That's cheap!  It would cost me $30 in gas to just drop a stem off.  Nearest powercoater is like an hour away.

Meh, I don't really care about value. It's a bike, ride it! I do think I'm gonna get a silver one & powder it lime green though

Love the build, and what makes it even batter is the fact it will be ridden hard.

The stem is minorly inconvenient to adjust with the detangler installed.

Re: 2017 Haro Master/Haro Sport Thread

I’m running an S&M Enduro V2 stem with the 40mm reach on my Master. I thought I was pretty content with that until I saw the setups here with the Mallet stem. big_smile I might be changing some things lol

If you haven't seen the magical stars floating around whilst lying face down in the mud you ain't lived.
