Did you always look that happy? tongue

If you haven't seen the magical stars floating around whilst lying face down in the mud you ain't lived.

Harp, I want to tell you something. I was in this bureau when you were still popping zits on your funny face and jerking off with the lingerie section of the Sears catalog....

Look, John, I'm sorry I'm not sorry, okay? I'm not gonna apologize. I'm a cocksman.

Re: **BEST MEMORY OF THE 80's**

This thread rules.

I spent the summer of 1984 in St. Louis, MO with my best friend Jeff.
We each had our Mongoose Motomags with us. Jeff's was chrome and red, mine black and red. We spent all summer just riding around and exploring the city. Then, heading back each evening to Jeff's Moms house to watch MTV and eat pizza all night.

Eventually, we stumbled across a place called "Wet Willy's Water Slide". Locals will, I'm sure remember it fondly. Legend has it, a kid hit his head on the steps at the bottom of the slide, and it got shut down when the kid died.

My memory is pretty fuzzy, but somewhere near the waterslide we found a bike shop, and of course we went in to see what was new.

yikes I can still perfectly see it in my mind. Shining chrome, hanging above and behind the counter was the first GT Pro Performer and the first CW Phase 1 we had ever seen in person. Frame sets only, hung on the wall. we must have looked like a couple of morons standing there gawking and exclaiming "Dude!" for probably half an hour.

Every time I see either of those bikes I flash back to that day. Standing there, smelling like chlorine and bike grease, and knowing without knowing, but feeling deep down somehow, that everything was about to change.

That was the best summer I ever had.

Re: **BEST MEMORY OF THE 80's**

Yeah. No one was hurt or home. He put on the deep fryer on the counter, forgot and went for a bike ride. Our Mom got back from the store and the kitchen was already gone.
My whole family was at Jeff's Dad's house when we pulled in from St. Louis. My brother came running up grinning. "I burnt down the house!"
Luckily, he eventually stopped being a dumbass. lol
