I was lucky enough to even know about the bike 2 years ago but he had had in his shed for 10 year's.
After going through the 10 or so layers of paint it seems to have been blk but i really couldnt confirm if it was or not

Welcome to the Trix Owners Club 4130bigr!!!  They truly are a piece of history.

An advertisement from Action BMX Cycle Co. in the March 1985 issue of Freestylin' has the only available in chrome plate / red / white or yellow.  They might have been available in other colors but in all my years of riding / collecting, I have never seen anything original other than those 4 options.

Trading (not selling):
My NOS green Haro tires for NOS blue or white Haro tires
My 1990 Bashguard Team Master f/f for a 1990 Bashguard Zolatone Master

WTB:
Rear Peregrine Super Pro wheel or hub
Haro Fusion 3 piece cranks (175mm or 180mm)

Re: 1984 GHP Trix

Great build. Re colours, I've been doing loads of research, even contacted Greg himself, as I'm just getting this refinished now....

http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y454/mrocco17/work_zpsqjvj1aja.jpg

I did find one advert as below for 'day glow orange' in Freestylin from 84. That would of been rad man! I know there was also a yellow one that made its way to Australia straight outta the factory doors. Theres als oa really good video on you tube, where some dude is explaing the red finish over white...

Yeah - that is James Tobin (twintoptuber).  He used to be a really big freestyle collector long ago.  Great guy and had some SERIOUSLY BADASS BUILDS!!  Not to mention, deeeeeeeep pockets......

Re: 1984 GHP Trix

4130bigr, hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread, but your build has got me pretty excited. I've posted a few times for more photos of the Trix's and yours is by far my favorite so far.

I just had tehse photo's through from the painters, and am totally stoked!!

After I investigated quite a few shades of red, I found RAL3024 Luminous Red. SuperBikeDan here in London tracked it down through his connections in the industry and sprayed it in wet paint for me, starting with a white base coat, then the red, and then a few coats of clear. Its exactly what I wanted, a shade lighter than the standard GHP Solid Red (and much lighter than the cherry red) with a little bit of orange,  that comes alive when you put light on it. 80's Freestyle to a tee!! My balls are tingling with the excitement of getting this built!!!

Its alittle lighter than yours, but I really fancied the Dayglo idea.....

Mine started out in a poor state of affairs but was very lucky to have no dents or cracks

I chose not to find the correct color code and decided to powder mine in a red i found suitable.  Everyone ive seen are different reds and as far as i know, bmxaddicts is the only one who had used the correct color.
All of them look nuts IMO.

Re: 1984 GHP Trix

Hi. had a change of heart - the luminous red I had this first painted in was TOOO bright! Its been redone, Ive applied the decals and some grip tape, and this is where it currently sits....yours is still an inspiration man!
