Now here is something really cool (I think)...I was asked to supply information about a bike that someone had for as long as he can remember. He sent me pics of the bike in May 2014. I then proceeded and advised what he had and even ordered some reproduction grips for him and tried to assist him with cleaning it up the way he wanted to. He started and never got too far due to priorities. We kept in contact every now and then just having a little chat...After just over two years he decided he will not get around to it any longer and let me take care and add it to my collection. Bare in mind he has had this bike since new and is still searching for the original receipt. The bike was well taken care of all this years and i promised to do the same from here forward for as long as I can.

Well here it is at Grease Monkey Garage 2 years later...1983 Mongoose Expert

Just curious., in the act of assisting him with his bike, even ordering grips for him., did you ever disclose the actual value of the bike?., or can we say, YOU FORGOT?

Cool bike.
What with the top tube where it meets the seat post, are all geese like that? Looks almost like a loose fit.

Get off of your soapbox, dude. He helped him get parts and the guy decided to sell. Who cares if he paid $100 or nothing. The Internet(maybe you've heard of it) is world wide. It's your own responsibility to do you OWN research. If someone is selling something for 10% of its value, you'd be a fool to pay more.

Hey jakehigh5, I'm sure the previous owner would feel same way you do, right now? Heck, I'm sure your circle of friends would think real highly of you if you would not hesitate to pull one over their heads, at the chance of making a profit..., way to go!.. One more giant step for "HUMANITY."

Look, clown, show me where he said he was selling. While you're at it, show me where he said what he paid for it. Oh, and just for fun, show me where he said the guy didn't know what he had. I almost missed one! Where did he say they were friends?? Come on, big mouth. You have all the answers. Let's see it. You're a fool.

Re: Latest Score

Hi jakehigh5.., let's talk:
1) Previous Owner reaches out for help.
2) Potential New Owner offers assistance.
3) Potential New Owner purchases parts, for the bike.
4) Potential New Owner, assist in cleaning the bike.
5) They both keep in contact for a period of two years.
Do you really believe that within a two year period, the topic on, hey, how much do you think it's worth? ,should have, come up?
As for the fool, comment, why so harsh.., we have never met., perhaps we can be friends, you can help me wash my bikes., you can buy me parts.., and then you can pay me "Full Market Value".., as I will NOT leave "Meat on the Bone"., for you to "Flip."

BTW..., I must tell you about the dream I had last night.., I was walking along a dark street, I felt cold, and I  knew I was probably, a product of society (SKID ROW), perhaps of my own wrong decisions, but despite all, I looked out at a distance and saw a neon sign which read "CHAMPION".., I knew at that point, that I was alive again and would be a "CHAMPION".in life.., I was hoping you would donate to me your 1980 "CHAMPION BIKE".., which would make me and my dream whole......., what do you say?
