1985 Kuwahara Super Nova
1985 Kuwahara Super Nova
An amazing survivor in an even more rare colour.
Check out this recent survivor I just picked up. The original owner bought this Kuwahara at a local bike shop here in Edmonton, rode it for a few weeks and then stored it in his basement for the next 30 years. I believe this is all original including the gripes and tires.

Very cool and very interesting as well.
The color and parts on it such as the seatclamp and the fact that it is made in japan point to the fact it maybe a late 84 early 85. The 86 would be made in Tiawan and called the Nova Titlist.
Would you mind sharing the serial number?
At anyrate, awesome find and thanks for sharing!

Here is the serial number.
I didn't really look at it before, but I think this would win the Serial Number of the Year Award!

Manufactured 11-1985. Making it one of the last true made in japan novas!! Would have been sold in 86, but for the sake of record keeping here on the museum i would call it an 85.
Again, great find!!

Here's an ad from BITD which shows a little of what it came with.

Depends which bike shop it was sold out of. They all used different tires and grips. Some used toad stool,or white tange kuwahara grips. Tires used were IRC z-3 skinny fat combo. Cranks were either takagi grande 170, or sugino 175. Stem either sugino,or suntour broken arrow
