Re: Who bought the fake RL double clamp stem on eBay?

I wonder why the Redline website has a second gen stem listed as 75?

They have many mistakes in their timeline.

Yes, Byron broke single stems then Redline designed the 1st double clamp stem to which Byron broke also.  Very few were made and sold due to the stem strength.  I'm not posting pictures because someone will "reproduce" that stem also

The 2nd generation stem had the '75 non-stamped clamps.

By late 1977 the beefier Redline stamped clamps were made to improve surface area to cinch down the bars more effectively.

http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/7899/1977-redline-slantline-stem5886509f30.jpg

Then late 1979 the Brute stem was produced.

It's the fun of the hunt to find vintage parts and to meet new people along the way.  Guess that fun is gone due to many wanting to cut corners with the availability of cheaper non-Vintage repro parts available on the Internets

Re: Who bought the fake RL double clamp stem on eBay?

Take a look on
eBay as there is a repop 3rd gen by an Australian seller though it is honestly and clearly posted as a replicated stem . This will give you some comparison to go by . Like above it's clear once you know the obvious differences

I bought this as genuine nos from Robert Felcher but it's FAKE FAKE FAKE and exact same as the one on eBay and all coming out of OZ made by known people . Getting fat from a hard working man . Shameful robbing people who share the same interests in a sport that's been enjoyed by myself since the late 1970's. These pond life should be all exposed then kicked out of the park http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/106277/img_819858aa007aaf.jpg

Re: Who bought the fake RL double clamp stem on eBay?

I bought a fake tuff neck once about 8/9  years ago but only paid about a hundred bucks for it but man,If I ever buy something that turns out to be fake and I spend over a grand on it or even close to it, trust me A word to the wise.. lock your windows because there are folks close to snapping that will take a 12 hour plane ride to kick your a**  and be out of your country by the time the law arrives.

that's what you call personal satisfaction but in all reality I just hope all the Knockoff Nancy's burn in hell.

I nearly bought that on here in the sale section but he's also got a redline package for sale with another redline stem. I asked if he's got 2 but he's only got one so he's trying to sell the same thing in to different sales.

The stem is pending at the moment but he's still got it for sale in his redline package

Re: Who bought the fake RL double clamp stem on eBay?

The perpetrators of the fake stems are well known BMX collectors. The people selling these and who were involved in making them have been banned from various online groups. 'Facebook is to blame with the death of BMX' Lol.
