1986 ELF Pro

A spray painted nightmare

This is my friend's 1986 Elf. The frame/fork was originally purple.  Myself and others in our group referred to it as the, "Prince Purple Rain signature Bike". The green paint job you see is the result of that ribbing bitd. THIS BIKE LOOKED GREAT IN PURPLE. The bike will be refinished in the sharp purple it had thirty years ago. The bike now has a Tange fork. The result of a crack up with a triple jump many years ago...The serial number indicates this is the 80th frame manufactured April of 1986. I do not see any letters indicating frame size. I found several patches of the original purple as I dug through four layers of spray paint to get to the serial number.
Update 2020
Just got the frame back from C4Labs. I had purchased a decal set off Ebay back in 2015. Most of the components have been clean and polished. Wish the chrome wasn't so heavily pitted.
Update 9/4/2020
Spent the day reassembling my friend Scott's 1986 ELF....been restoring this bike since 2015! 1st Gen Hutch seat clamp rechromed, repop decals off Ebay, frame restored by C4Labs out of Delaware. Working on this bike got us recalling numerous teen age shenanigans  The Purple Rain Signature Bike lives again!

Re: 1986 ELF Pro

Looks cool if you ask me, but then I'm partial to a bit of green! In any case I love the earlier ELFs and this one has some nice parts, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it ends up.

Check out my 1983 VDC-built Trident, 1983 Kuwi Laserlite, 2010 GT Ultrabox 2, 2011 Crupi race rig and prototype Quamen, plus the all things Crupi & old school scene in Japan threads. Always interested in buying used, mid-school race plates and pads - UGP, Knucklebone, Lizard Skins, Pryme and the like, me like!!
