VANS BMX
I grew up in Southern California in the 70's and Vans shoes were a part of my identity/uniform. While kids from the cities would rock the Nike and the New Balance, us kids from the other side of the tracks would always rock the Giligan's (blue's). Vans contributed a whole lot to BMX, Surfing and Skateboarding. If you've got a cool story or some cool pics, post them up and stay rad, always.
I love the smell of new Vans.

And napalm in the morning.
Vans for life.
"Harp, I want to tell you something. I was in this bureau when you were still popping zits on your funny face and jerking off with the lingerie section of the Sears catalog."
"Look, John, I'm sorry I'm not sorry, okay? I'm not gonna apologize. I'm a cocksman."
"Nine million terrorists in the world and I gotta kill one with feet smaller than my sister."

They're reacting and that's wonderful. It's better than them sitting there doing nothing. I say make them react - do whatever's in your power to move the audience, and if that's where it is, and there where it is with America, sex and violence, then I say project it.

Re: VANS BMX
I have been wearing nothing but Vans to ride since about 87... Remember when you could get them with a slice of wood inside? I'm not sure how long that lasted.

I remember that you could order them with checkers or other designs around the side of the soles, rather than just being plain white.

Dope Half-Cabs. My son's friend told me "You"re the only adult I know that can still pull off wearing VANS." Been wearing them since the 70's, only got my first pair of Nikes last year.
