Thanks man. It's taken some time, but it'll get done.
Another coat of color this weekend.

Re: Stuck bontrager seat post removal - success

Paints looking good.   I cant bring myself to wet sand a frame,  done way to much of it on cars.  I shoot auto paint with a gun and it lays down well, but always get a little orange peel on some areas.  I commend you.

On that schwinn,  flip it over and plug the post,  you can fill the seat tube thru the bottom bracket and let it soak fully submerged.

I just had good luck with an alum post in a steel frame thats been stuck since 1988, ive had the bike that long.  Flipped it upside down, plugged it and filled the seat tube with oxalic acid thru the bottom bracket.   Couple cycles from heat gun,  too hot to touch but didnt damage the paint,  24 hours later it came out first try.

Re: Stuck bontrager seat post removal - success

I posted a few half done pics on the build off thread last year.
Finally got the right size post and clamp, tightened up the hubs, and got the brakes dialed in.
On the lookout for different cranks and chainwheel. And got a chrome padset on the way.

Thanks guys. It should look even better once the snow melts and I can get some decent pictures in the sunlight.

Excellent work, I’m glad that I didn’t throw the frame in the trash!
