1995 Mongoose Hooligan
1995 Mongoose Hooligan
Rare, early Hooligan
I picked up this '95 Hooligan last year and proceeded to rebuild it over the next few months, including a citric acid bath to clean up some minimal rust. Only things that I've changed/ added are new DMC tyres, '95 stamped Tech 77s with new gen 1 cables and a set of era correct DMC cranks. Just gotta find some rear pegs and she's done.

Re: 1995 Mongoose Hooligan
Great bike man! I have a '95 Hooligan I'm kind of redoing. I bought it new. I like the 3pc crank set you have on there. This looks in great condition. I have cleaned most of the rust off mine, but was thinking about doing an acid bath that I have read about on here.

Re: 1995 Mongoose Hooligan
Thanks for the comments guys. Always_crashin, I'd recommend citric acid over Oxalic acid. Comes out much cleaner

Re: 1995 Mongoose Hooligan
Can’t believe yours is the only 95 Hooligan on the Museum well I’ve just got hold of one so mine will be joining yours soon - it’s all stripped down ready for the citric bath ( you are right ... better results with citric ) - i’m using a few new school parts until I track down the bits I need
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
