DNA Flatland

I am simply looking for some information on this company.  I recently saw another thread where a fellow posted an RPM frame, and people chimed in that they were also marketed as Norcos, and DNAs.

Was DNA a manufacturer, or simply a marketing company?

Re: DNA Flatland

I have a 97 DNA hopper, different frame style.
I think they went from components to building a limited amount of bikes/styles midschool 90's.
If I can remember my photobucket login I'll try and post some pics.
The company has been revived and they do a dna hopper mk2, if you google it there's an image online of the newer frame.
Hunting for more info myself as I'd never seen another dna hopper mk1 about, they seem pretty rare bikes in the UK.

Re: DNA Flatland

There's a chrome one with the same frame as yours with hopper decals which I think is later model prob 98-99. Also heard it called a dna freestyle but that was only a word of mouth.
Will hunt a pic of the chrome one. ????

Re: DNA Flatland

That's it, worked this time.
If you come up with any more info, I'll be interested myself.
I know there was a review in ride bmx magazine issue 32 dec - jan 97-98.
Thanks for liking the 97, yours is sweet too, definitely a keeper ????????

Re: DNA Flatland

Sorry Photobucket is playing up again, that's the 32t chainwheel on my 97 hopper.
Anyway the dna components included chainwheel and seat clamp.
The forks are old school khe and the headset clamp and bars are unknown, not found a stamp on either.
It also came with dia compe hombres front and rear.
Diatech headset.
Not sure what was o.g other than the dna parts.

Do you think it is as late as a 1999?

This frame uses a 1 inch threaded fork with a quill stem.  I was thinking more 1995-96 like the KHE Premium Lagger.

Re: DNA Flatland

Thought 97 was there first bike, if its a hopper and mine is 97 it seemed logical.
T.b.h dna bikes are confusing full stop.
I'll keep trying to find out what I can, information is proper hard to find.
Will post a pic of another DNA bmx I came across, looks like a mid school racing one, just to add to the mystery.

Re: DNA Flatland

It'd make sense then 96 maybe with the 1" maybe yours came before the 97 model.
You think the chrome hopper is the same bike as yours ?

It certainly appears to be the same - it also has a quill stem and a threaded fork.

I can feel that cable guide on that gusset digging into the inside of my knee from here!
Cool frame.
