fake haro....the gusset isnt welded solid...thats my guess

when i see a mongoose at walmart, i try and picture the metal being used to make something more useful, like a frying pan, or maybe some clothes hangers...oh well...its out of my hands.

Re: ID THIS ??HARO??

its does look identical to that frame, maybe so...i wish i had more info on older haro's. may be a early haro, the standers didnt come along until mid eighties.

Re: ID THIS ??HARO??

looks a bit like a New Zealand made Torker sold here as a Magum 202 then changed the name to Supersport..We even had a Full Cr-Mo one called a XR20 Pro....My XR20 Pro has the round hole also in the middle of the gusset in the top two tubes as well just like your pic..
Yes the first Haro's were made by Torker but I've never seen one in real life.

Please check out my bikes in my profile..I'd like to know more about my redline

Re: ID THIS ??HARO??

you noticed that too helmutt? looks like the bottom weld on the gusset is very rough, and alomst extends onto the down tube, maybe reweld? this one has me beat for tonight.

Re: ID THIS ??HARO??

the front gusset under the down tube looks correct if its a 82-83 freestyler, in 84 they changed the gusset to fully welded

Re: ID THIS ??HARO??

Looks like a Haro. Except, there is no way those are Haro forks and the "bob haro" masters of that age did not have a cable guide. As for the welds on the gusset. The original Masters were not welded all the way through the gusset line. That is enough to fool a lot of people.

Re: ID THIS ??HARO??

I had posted torker also, because of the brace between the top tubes screams torker...
and the seatpost tube brace thing - it has to be a torker -
but then I saw the coaster brake mount - and know in my heart of hearts no torker would ever have had a coaster brake mount, so I deleted my post so as not to be called a lamer by my fellow peers....

Then I was thinking.... maybe a freestyle bike would be coaster brake??? I never got into freestyle BITD, so I don't really know about the '80s freestyle scene. I had a car by like '86 and sorta quit bikes for awhile....

Go have a look at the 1985 Torker Pro in the museum.

I think you have a Torker Pro Eddie Fiola model.

- Saylor

Well hell now I'm not so sure based on the above post pictures LOL...... that looks very haro master - y

Re: ID THIS ??HARO??

now that i see that close-up of the one in question i dont think at all that its a haro.

the welds are junk!

also, haro didnt put cable guides on the frames untill 85.
