Ya those things go for crazy money. I was watching that one as well just to see if it broke $200! lol

I was shocked at the price.  I should sell mine for like 700!  lol

And I was shocked I won it for only $270! I was prepared to pay $725. I don't F**K around; I have to have it this time.

My rationale is that, if I let this one go, I don't know if I will ever see one ever again. People pay $400 for brake levers, and I don't see why this super rare sprocket is worth any less.

So I received the sprocket... and as it turns out, it was only slightly bent. One mallet tap and a little polish and it looks perfect again. cool

When did you get this? I want one but ended up with a 90 cruiser since late 80s are hard to come by.

I've had it for about 8 months now I think.  I sent some GT cruiser bars to the chromer months and months ago.  Still waiting on those.  I have these 87-88 GT cruiser bars that have been cut down an inch on both ends so I figured I'd mock it up for now.  Wheels need truing too.  It's coming along.  Seems like it will never be finished!

Very cool man, keep me updated on this one. Hoping to own one someday. I have all the parts for my 90 just need to powder and polish now. I'll probably do a build thread again smile

Looking forward to another build thread!

My favorite year for GT...  I love all the 85's.   I love when they are built up with "factory" parts too.  Nice!

Gotta love the 85, but the 86 decals were the start of greatness!  I love my 86 lavender WT.

Re: GT obsession!

That is the same setup I used on my 90 build PFT frame.  I dressed it as a 91 team model, but I do believe it is a 90.5 withou 990s.  Love the 91 team disc, a bent one just sold for 270 on ebay!

Yep, I just ordered a 36T for my GT Street Performer 29, couple days ago.

Re: GT obsession!

I got my Overdrive sprocket from Albes today and it's very nicely machined and thick. I'm impressed, well done GT.

That is exactly why I haven't changed them yet.  Thanks for the complement.  She resides with superlaces instead of the Mohawks in the picture.  I did find a clean set of OG black 91 GT/Ame anatomical grips used.
