Deer popcorn gif ready.

Repop Peregrine 48's! Billy what a excellent idea.

Stewards? what a hoke.

Honest question cause I don't have any idea, when did the Peregrine 48 first come out?

Pretty sure Peregrine introduced the first 48 spoke FS wheel and it was in '86

Reference Section here says 85 (just looked it up) but I don't think Haro used 48 on their bikes til 87 (not sure though) and this bike is replicating an 86.  Maybe the 48s will come next year.

oh no here it comes

What?

I'm kinda half ass looking for a frame with slightly less CS and a slightly lower bb than my Barcodes.  An Orphan would work, but FBM hasn't built any of those for a minute.  A Dugan would work, and will most likely be what I get if anything, but if this frame came like about 75/71/13.625/11.625, shit, I would try it out.

Almost certain the bottom bracket will be 11.5 like every current Haro frame.

Technically this is a DMC replica not a factory Haro replica and Dennis exclusively ran chrome hoops specifically the Peregrine 48's in '86. Just for their sheer stopping power while doing ground. I can't say that Masters came from the factory with 48's in 86 but you'd be hard pressed to find a pic of Dennis riding mags on his personal bike. I do know the FST's came with Ukai 48's in 86 though cool

As already stated above Dennis did not run mags but the 86 Master did come stock with Skyways. Here is a page from the 86 Haro catalog.

86 Redline RL 20 II ads suggested Peregrine 48's as an option.

Oh, and as far as the stock bike being a 20.5 inch top tube:
I'm 5'9", so DMC is like 5'6, tops.

The Official Haro statement says complete with 20.5 top tube and frames with 20.5, 20.75 and 21.0 top tubes.

It's funny looking at the seat posts in that 86 ad. When your ass is higher than your crossbar that has to feel weird.

Already answered by oldsklharo a few posts ago.  Yes he ran chrome Peregrines for the superior braking vs mags.  So yes 48 would be both cool and correct on this ride cool

Re: 2016 DMC Haro Master

Ok, so i am a GT/Dyno guy predominantly (Throw in a Skyway T/A and an early (91) Auburn CR20R and that's pretty much me) but have always liked the 86 Haro Master.
I saw this bike and was like ok, now i'm going to be broke again.

HOOOO-BOY!!! big_smileyikescool

Now THAT is an AWESOME bike!  Holy smokes!!!

I had a big idea in my head of what this bike should be and this is EVEN BETTER!!  That frame is perfect, and they added tensioners on there!  Rad!  And some frickin' Group 1 Cranks?!  Really?! Sweet!  21"TT?!  YES!

Congrats to John B & Haro on this masterpiece!  Thank you!  They have really been on a roll the last couple years!

Please make a 21"TT 1986 Wilkerson Sport just like this in BLUE/Chrome!  That was my first Haro!  coolcoolcool

Re: 2016 DMC Haro Master

I guess there is always a few things they could have done a little better, a matching set of 48's would have been good and even the colour is not really one of my favorites but i'll still be angling to put my name on one.  Personally i liked the later Black and Chrome Master that DMC rode but this is the next best thing wink

Remember these are ongoing 30th anniversary models.  This replicates DMCs 86 bike for 2016.  In 2017 or 18 you might see that black and chrome Master.  Only time will tell
