2016 SE Bikes Sneak Peek Thread.

Hello fellow SE fans, it's that time of year again. Todd Lyons asked me recently to help him unveil the 2016 line-up, so here I am again.

First up, and I'm sure alot of you have seen TL testing this bike all over social media, and at events.

The all new "Fat Ripper". I for one am stoked to get one. It just looks like so much fun to ride. This is still a prototype, but the production bike will be pretty close.

And Todd released this pic on social media yesterday of the new So Cal Flyer.

More pics coming.

Re: 2016 SE Bikes Sneak Peek Thread.

I would appreciate that SE sells frame and fork combos of some of their models because I don't really like the completes part wise. I know they have to keep the costs for completes down but buying one and afterwards changing most of the parts is a royal PITA.

The "Fat Ripper" is just plain ridiculous or maybe I just don't get it.

Not trying to be a smart ass or rude, but Todd has addressed this over and over.  Lots of people post up here that they want frame sets.  But when they make them, nobody buys them and they end up sitting on Planetbmx 3 years later for sale at half off the original price.

I thought the same thing when I saw it. I rode TLs at the Spring Fling. Just a fun cruising bike. It rode nothing like I thought it would. Lots of people at the Fling who didn't think much of it also liked it after they rode it. I am not planning on getting one but its a pretty fun bike to ride.

Yep and that sucks.  Evidently I'm one of the few that snags framesets.

The Fat Ripper rocks! My brother recently bought a fat tire bike. I am definitely interested in the SE version.  On a side note,  if I purchase one I will re-decal it Fat Bastard! lol

Yep, alot of talkers. They gauge interest by folks squeeling with glee at the prospect of certain bikes/framesets. Some even say they are buying 2 of them....yet when 'go time' happens they are simply trying to make their car note or buy a propane setup for their trailer.

My thoughts exactly.  I had no interest until I saw and rode it.  It has grown on me a lot.  I'm still undecided about whether I'll actually drop what would eventually be a grand on it but it is a definite possibility.

Re: 2016 SE Bikes Sneak Peek Thread.

Hey dudes. Sorry the sneak peeks are a little late this year, but I been busy! I have a new 7 month daughter at home and a zillion & one they things going on. But alas, the 2016 Sneak Peek thread is FINALLY happening! Capt Nemo will be doing most of the photo posts as I do not have the time that is used to. :-) Moving forward, many times, photos will be posted HERE first before anywhere else, including SE's social media. Alright, now for some talks about the bikes:

As you can see, the So Cal Flyer is taking a cool retro approach this year with "PK Ripper" style decals on top of the clearcoat, padsets added, a Flyer seat, cool new sprockets, etc. I really dig this year's versions!

"What is the Fat Ripper intended for?" It's intended to BLAST! Peep the link to see it in use: https://instagram.com/explore/tags/fatripper/

I have been riding the sample bike for a few months now and it rides VERY similar to a 26" BMX bike, but now I can ramp up anything. Jump UP steps, blast 90 degree curb cuts like they were jumps, launch piles of rocks, etc, etc. I am running 30lbs of pressure in the 3.5" tires. And 30lbs in a fat ties is rock hard. Like I said, it's like a BMX bike that has no limits. Check the link above to see me shreddin' on it.
