1981 Roger DeCoster
1981 Roger DeCoster
**SOLD* frame to Waza
I got the frame and Tange forks as you see it in the pic of it on the computer desk, with a couple other parts. The serial number indicates that it was made in September, 1981. It only had one original sticker left on it, which I left on there, that says 1981 also. I built it up like I remember all my cousins and friends had our bikes back then. Upgrading as we could. I was pretty young in 81 but I still remember being in my cousins garage as they were switching out cranks and handlebars and such. I ended up with a lot of their old parts on my Huffy. This one's got coaster brake metal flange Tuff's, Maxy Cross cranks, NOS Rough Rider bars, fluted seat post. Lots of stuff I remember getting at the bike shop in the early 80's before I got a little older and into freestyle. Update: Sold the frame to Warren in Australia. It'll have a great home with him I'm sure.
I really like bikes!!!

Never nioticed Rogers back in the day, probably just thought they were Mongooses. That collection looks sweet. Gonna use that wood thing against the wall to display the bike stuff somehow?

Re: 1981 Roger DeCoster
I just came across some other pictures I took of this one the day before I took it apart and shipped out the frame back in Sept of 09. I figured I'd post them, still haven't seen another one of these with a looptail. Some of these parts went to my black Mongoose, some I still have sitting around.

Super rare fer sure!
Newbie...
No front brakes, except for freestyle.
Adjust your seat and bars, so it looks like you actually ride.
Use cruiser bars on cruisers.
No laybacks on cruisers either, jeez.
