You ever want to sell that bike, let me know!

I have this bike and I'm in the process of restoring it.  Any idea where I can find original parts?

You pretty much just gotta keep your eyes open for used bikes for sale and build from there...The bars will be the hardest to find. Goodluck cool

Re: 1988 Mongoose Californian Pro

Mongoose made some nice bikes in the late 80's and this is one of them. I like the Decade Pro of the same year too.

Re: 1988 Mongoose Californian Pro

Many, many thanks for getting back to me. These pics should enable the decals to be made up nicely. I don't think i will be getting on with the project until some time next year as i am still sourcing the parts. This is another major peice in the puzzle though and the help is much appreciated.cool

I didnt like the bars back then either... i replaced my originals with GT Pro bars...

I'v come to appreciate the stock look nowadays...it just feels right wink plus those bars are really hard to find cause they were a weird size.

Your bike is so clean very nice!  I'm in the process of putting mine back together.  Thanks for listing the parts break down it has been very helpfull.  I have every thing except the seat.  What kind of seat came on yours?

Re: 1988 Mongoose Californian Pro

This is the best bike in the museum. I bought this same bike brand new in 92 or 93 as a leftover. Mine was chrome and I believe it was made in the USA. I really wish I still had it. I bet it may take bornagainbmxR a while to score that seat!

Every time this bike gets bumped I end up staring at it for an hour or 2 just like I did when I first joined the museum! Now I also have 2 of them and a pro series big_smile
