Re: 2014 Bassett Racing Star Cruiser 26

Well done! I've seen these being sold on eBay and thought about picking one up. I keep wondering how the geometry compares to an OM Flyer.

Nice bike sir! cool

Thanks for the comments everyone. Was fun to build and put a few miles on it already and just the normal tweaks and adjustments to be made.

Re: 2014 Bassett Racing Star Cruiser 26

Great looking bike, are you satisfied with how the reissue mx1000 brake works on the 26"?

Re: 2014 Bassett Racing Star Cruiser 26

It's ok most of the time. See alot of guys running front and rear brakes ,thought of doing this myself.

Re: 2014 Bassett Racing Star Cruiser 26

Ok so it has sufficient braking power? I just bought a MX-1000 set F + R for my 2015 OM Flyer, but the shaft on the front caliper is just about 5mm too short, barely 2 visible threads to put the nut on.

Re: 2014 Bassett Racing Star Cruiser 26

On the rear I switched out the stock brake pads for a set of Avids. Made a big difference. Set of Kool Stop pads would be another choice.

Re: 2014 Bassett Racing Star Cruiser 26

Yeah Koolstop would be nice choice, also for the looks if you take the round ones, I always ran them BITD. cool
