Made In ITALY

Return to my native SoCal a couple of years ago sparked a renewed interest/love of vintage BMX.  But my background is in vintage Italian road bikes.
I know companies like Campagnolo and Cinelli entered the burgeoning BMX market in the late 70s-early 80s.  Ofmega made some components, Columbus manufactured some tubing, Atala made some bikes...
I imagine that some of you have some pretty neat/rare Italian stuff.  Maybe this thread can be a place to share it?  Post your Italian bikes/parts/ads/etc!

Re: Made In ITALY

We had a shop in Brisbane, Australia that had a gold cinelli frame and stem in the window for years. It must have been the late 70's. That frame looked so cool but I never did see one on the track.

Although Bottechia was mentioned previously, I hadn't seen one until this evening.  Wild rear suspension!

Re: Made In ITALY

if we got a thread for that i got a question regarding the often mentioned Sheriff hub...
From my little knowledge the Record Corsa group was introduced late 1984 at the end-of-year trade shows and wasn't available to buy till end of 1985. this is at least what a roadie collector told me once...
i even found some sources online which saying 1986. Can anyone confirm these dates? catalog pictures

velobase also says 1985:
http://velobase.com/ViewComponent.aspx? … ;AbsPos=54

i got several high-flange Record front hubs and one set of cones are stamped 84, not sure if and how many years they made Record and Record Corsa in parallel...

Re: Made In ITALY

I have some Campy items. Bought the cranks from a museum member a few months back. I then got the chain ring, bolts and dust covers. All Campy. I also have some hubs that have been converted to sealed bearings.
