POWERLITE-First score of the New Year!

I scored this 96 Powerlite p61 Pro XL last night on cl.All original except the back tire and seat. Some one removed the decals.Top tube is 20 and 3/4 long. This thing is aluminum and light,i don't ride 20's anymore because i am 6ft3 but this bike fits me nice. The spider and sprocket caught my eye in an ad that just said Black and chrome bike for sale.
The wheels are Araya 7x with Sealed cartridge Powerlite hubs with Hallow axels, front tire is stock Powerlite. Now if i can just find new decals, there was a little bit left on the fork and are Silver ,black, red and yellow.

One more item that might not be original is the S&M Redneck stem, but maybe the shop put it on when built up.

Re: POWERLITE-First score of the New Year!

I like this p61 so much i have been on the look out for a p24,found one today with carbon fiber FMF forks,it is a 2000,really want one the same year as the p61[1997] but are hard to find. This bike was raced 10 to 15 years ago.Thing is pretty nice!

Re: POWERLITE-First score of the New Year!

King Stinger laying low this year.  Couldn't possibly be only your second bike of the year....

That looks cool.  All of the GT brands from the 90s are great bikes.  With as many they made...no kid should be riding something from Walmart.

Hutch Fun Facts: All main line Hutch's with digits only S/N (no letters or baseballs) on the rear drop outs were US made and had their dropouts stamped between late '83 and '86.  Obviously the frame manufacture would occur slightly after that, even if they just threw 'em in a bucket randomly.  There is an obvious date code in that the first 2 digits seem to be the month and the 3rd digit is pretty obviously the last digit of the year running from '83-'86.
