Pump track build

So about a year and a half ago I sold all my motocross stuff and got back into BMX after roughly 25 years off. The plan is to ultimately get into it with the kids, they are just starting to get the bug now at 6 years old.

After seeing everything that is going on these days it seemed like a pump track would be a good idea to start getting flow and bike skills back. I had wanted a Kubota for years so this seemed like the right time.

I thought I was off to the races. I read the book by Lee McCormack and thought I had plenty of room in my side yard. After I had some soil delivered I knew I would get bored quickly and abandoned the effort.

I needed more land. Problem was the only land I have that is flat is at the top of a very large hill behind my house. It was also a very dense forest. For the last tear I have been cutting and stumping.

Starting to look like a usable area

Re: Pump track build

That is Awesome!!,, I am SO JEALOUS of that Kubota.. I want one of those So freeking baad....  I am all about functionality and versatility and that kubota can do it all with all the attachments, it can mow grass,, plow snow,, perfect for landscape, building projects and build Sick trails!! We've even used my buddies dads to pull motors.. theyre not too big and not too small.

Very Cool trail setup being built here and it will only evolve to become even better. I have tried to get my buddy to bring some toys out and dig at my house,, No go.....

Re: Pump track build

Pump track needs to start at the top of the hill and go down to the area you already started. It will be amazing.

Re: Pump track build

Small set back with the Kubota. I love it but I wasn't treating her right.

Oops, turns out it was actually a bad weld from Kubota. See all the rust where the weld was supposed to be. I was on a roll so I did not want to wait for warranty so a little welding was in order.

So, thanks to my good friend Larry. I now have this beast at my house to do the heavy lifting! Also see the under construction access road to the new location. The ultimate goal is to be able to drive a truck up it.

Re: Pump track build

When we were kids we would try our best to make tracks and ramps and jumps anywhere we could.  I lived on a dead end street and we would all bring our dad's shovels and yard stuff and do our best to make a track.  What I love about this thread is that you are doing the same exact thing, but now we're all grown up and can actually use the big stuff....like the Kubota!!!!!  Nice work my man!  This is bad ass.
