1995 Haro Megatube DV8

Straight out of my 14yo dreams.

When I was 14 one of the coolest kids at school rocked up one morning on a DV8. I begged my dad to cut my BMX up and make it just like the Haro, but he refused. Since then I have always wanted a DV8, the only problem was, I knew it was a Haro but had no idea which one. I talked to everyone I knew who had seen the bike, and all claimed they didn't know what I was talking about. Once I joined up at OZBMX and found out about the museum, I started going through every Haro model until I found it. Fast forward 12 months, and here I am. Proud owner of a DV8. It has been through a restore, and my god the decals were not easy to even get an accurate look at, let alone reproduce/purchase. It has some NOS, some repro, some rider and even some brand new parts on it. I have a set of fusion pegs on the way to replace the current ones. Its mostly era correct except for the rims. It hasn't been built to spec, instead I have just created a bike that I would have killed for as a teenager. I hope you enjoy seeing it as much as I have enjoyed reliving my youth through building it.

Re: 1995 Haro Megatube DV8

hanks guys, and thank you Leone4130 for sending me the scan of the decals. They were really helpful in getting this to come together. I don't think I could have reproduced a set accurately without that. Your a champion.

That does look good, nice job on it. I thought the DV8's were 6 speeds though, but after looking at the other DV8's on here they're all single speeds. I have an all original one in my garage, it's a six speed.

Great job on the build. You don't see mainly of these around, and I love the frame.

Geez this is nice!  This is such a unique frame to begin with and you did an outstanding job bringing it back to showroom new.  Outstanding.

Re: 1995 Haro Megatube DV8

Thanks for the comments guys.
Wired, after I saw yours, I knew it could look cool as a freestyle. I think your bike changed many minds on whether they liked or disliked this bike (for the better).

Re: 1995 Haro Megatube DV8

Hows it going, love what youve done with your dv8. i just dug mine out of the back shed and want to do a full restoration on it. mine was that hot pink with yellow stickers had all fusion parts on it. hoping if any tips or advice to getting original parts somewhere really want it up and running original as possible.

Re: 1995 Haro Megatube DV8

Cool bike.
I found the 6 speed version. The negatube dv8 xc6 at a garage sale and scooped it up for 30$. Needs some work but shifts nice. They used skinny curved forks like a kids mountain bike though and there real ugly
