1994 GT Pro Series
1994 GT Pro Series
One of my favorite mid-school rides
This frame was originally released as a 1994 Pro Series, serial starting 1093XXXX. I decide to build it as a 1993 Pro Series Team since it was the same frame. As I moved along in the build I ended up using some parts from the '94 Pro Series and the forks from the special edition '94 Intercepter Shock model. So I guess you could say this was a 1993.5 GT Pro Series Team Shock Model. See if you can fit that on a decal. *L*

nice bike but unless you took off all the team stickers and components its not a team check mine out there is quite a difference. sweet bike though.
Yes, as I've stated above, the frame is a regular '94 Pro Series which I built to be a '93 Pro Series Team, I have every component as shown in the '93 catalog (except some decals). But after I was finished I decided to swap out some parts from the '94 model which I liked better, so this bike is somewhere in between.
It appears that your bike is also a '93 with few '94 parts, bike shops like to swap out parts near the end of the year.

Well if thats what the team one what the heck is mine it came from the bike shop with oddessy componanats and i has a team sticker and also says Hunington Beach cal under the Gt?
Well like I said, bike shops would often swap out parts, sometimes to make them better (in their opinion), sometimes because they thought they could sell the parts for more money separately, or even sometimes because they wanted the parts for themselves. When I bought my '87 GT PFT it had Jive grips, an '88 GT seat post clamp, and Shimano pedals.
Easiest way to find out the model is the serial number, if yours begins with 1092 through 0993 (Oct 1992 - Sept 1993) it's a 1993 model. Mine starts with 1093 (Oct 1993) which makes it technically a 1994.

Yeah, I've always been an 80's freestyle guy, but oddly enough, ever since I started restoring I've really gotten into the race bikes, especially the mid-school models.

Re: 1994 GT Pro Series
Great looking bike. I really like the long TT GTs. Does the front fork shock thing add much weight?

Re: 1994 GT Pro Series
It is a bit heavier than the regular fork, but not as much as you would think. It does well to even the weight out.

Re: 1994 GT Pro Series
The '94 catalog shows a cable stopper and brake mounts and yours matches the catalog '93. Regardless . . . nice bike.

Would love to find my old Dirt Bike. It was stolen in Pompano Beach, Florida in about 1996. It's a '92 with the block graphics on a Green frame. Pitchforks, Slam bars, King Headset, GT (DK-style) stem and GT/Profile cranks. Superlace hubs. Would really love to put this back in my collection.

Hey man,
What number plate is on your bike? That is one of the best ones I have seen.
Thanks!

Re: 1994 GT Pro Series
Do you know anyone selling those exact GT pads/graphics? I will pay $200 for the handle bar pad and top tube pad.

I spoke with Flite last year and they said they have plans to reproduce those 92 pads.
