2014 Fairdale Taj 26

26" Fairdale Taj

Fairdale Taj built up with some upgrades.  36t sprocket that Taj himself used to ride, Prototype Odyssey Classic Top Load Stem, custom Sasquatch wrapped Primo Hemorrhoid seat and Limited Edition Odyssey Blue Blood Trail Mix pedals round out the list of extra cool shit on this bike.  I also upgraded the brakes to Odyssey Evo IIs and the cranks to Odyssey Twombolts.

This bike is incredible for cruising around town.  I have went on countless rides over the summer since I first built this bike up.  A super fun bike that is also fun to play around with at the skatepark and pump track.  This bike is also a HILL BOMBING MACHINE!  Super stable and the 36/13 gear ratio is just how I like it.
The current top speed of this bike is 36.4MPH.  I will try to update the top speed as it gets faster.

Re: 2014 Fairdale Taj 26

Thanks.  I've had it for ever.  Probably close to 10 years.  I guess I just felt like the Taj was the bike for this seat.  With the help of some Odyssey convertible guts I was able to get this seat running on a pivotal post on this bike.  The damn seat tube is like a 27.2 or something, so you can't use a standard size BMX post, which was a bummer.

It is a super fun bike.  The new red looks pretty cool, too.

Re: 2014 Fairdale Taj 26

Bigger and taller hills...haha.  I have a bunch of pretty good ones in town but I have only recorded a few of them with Strava.

I also saw some cool 26" tires that Volume has.  They are a smooth tread.  If I ended up bombing some hills on those suckers compared to the Maxxis tires currently on there it would also help.  It is starting to get to the end of the season around here.  Most likely I will only be riding my 20" as much as I can before winter comes.  So tires for this rig are not a priority at the moment.

Thanks.  One of those "on the clock" jobs back when I worked at a shop...haha.  My excuse was "I needed to know how to re-wrap a seat" incase I ever had to do it for a customer.

I really like that bike. I would add a Brooks seat maybe, not really feeling that Yeti.

Just saw this pop-up on the homepage. I'm getting one of these at the end of the week when my bike budget isn't zero cool
