1979 Kuwahara KE-1
1979 Kuwahara KE-1
Hidden under the crappy spray bomb job is a real 79' KE-1. First year Kuwi made and full race bike.
Watch for a full restore. Looking for the correct 7c blue wheels still but all else still there!
I'm always very quick to leave feedback. Please be nice and do the same. Strength is in numbers...

Nice bike. Really great find. One of my favorite kuwaharas. What color 7c's are you looking for?
just FYI, this model is not a KE-1. I know what the museum members call them, but if you do research on ads and what not you will find KE-1 is a completely different model and this model is simply referred to as a kuwahara.

Thank u for the sweet info and that makes a lot of sense. I need blue 7c. The bike was originally white with all blue anno parts. Got most of the paint off to reveal the nice suntour cranks, stem, and clamp. The KKT lightning a need a restore so I'm gonna have all done at same time so all blues match correctly.

Exotic coatings in Romulus Mich is going to reanno the pedals, stem, cranks, chainring, clamp, and wheels/hubs if needed to be sure they all match the same. I want it to look nice. The bike was a gift from a friend that got it new and raced it. I want to do it justice.

I ended up polishing the blue. Looks like a million bucks. The win bars are gettting rechromed. Still havent found a good deal on 7c hoops so im gonna go a different route to spice it up. Just posted updated pics from the painter the other day.

That's b*tchen man. Really super cool bike. What took the paint off without ruining the decals underneath?
