Re: 1995 GT Speed Series Team XL
That was a craigslist score? How cool. I saw that bike in 95 at a local shop and wanted it so bad, but the shop would not budge on the price, nearly $800. They sold it to another shop, I tracked it down, and bought it in late 96 for just under $800. Beautiful bike, I went on to get the cruiser version, too. Lucky you, finding it on the cheap.

Re: 1995 GT Speed Series Team XL
Nice bike, currently restoring one just like it. I would say yours is about 95% accurate, because the bike originally came with center pull rear brakes. Not the side pulls like the ones in your pic and i believe they were black in color. Brakes and a matching front tire and it would be 100%. Great Craigslist find though.
this is what the original brakes should look like. This is a pic of the GT speed series team XL i bought back in 1996 or end of 95, i cant really remember, it has a 1995 serial number on it though.
I will never deal with or buy from Museum seller Flatland78 again, and you shouldn't either unless you like throwing away your hard earned money.
