It was a PITA to clean the tires for the pics but I made sure and got them dirty again.

Re: 1986 Diamond Back Cool Streak
Beautiful bike. My childhood bike looked a LOT like this one.
Taylor Allen John Anstrom ..... Finally found my baby. 1987 Roadmaster Thriller Freestyle!! Baby blue with white tires and gum sidewalls. The members of this site made it possible to make my dream come true.

Re: 1986 Diamond Back Cool Streak
WOOT! Just scored the correct bars with very nice NBL decal off the bay. I also found some proper rider condition grips and got them in hand. Not sure if I'm gonna use the grips yet but we'll see. They would likely correct the bike enough. I guess I could spend another hun on some date coded DC cables but.....?

Re: 1986 Diamond Back Cool Streak
Got the proper NBL bars with "restored" Fukong grips installed and changed the Comp IIIs to STs as it should be. Also added Flite donuts. Took new pics. I like it now,

Re: 1986 Diamond Back Cool Streak
Looks AWESOME... those bars look brand new and really set the whole bike off. Glad you held off and found such a nice pair. Now I kinda wish I kept mine!

Re: 1986 Diamond Back Cool Streak
Took it down and put four miles on it this morning. Still a fun ride for a short TT.....I guess the tall bars help.

Re: 1986 Diamond Back Cool Streak
So after finally finding the proper CW style bars with an original NBL sticker I see someone is reproducing the sticker.

Re: 1986 Diamond Back Cool Streak
Thinking of selling, worried I'd miss it too much after all the time and money spent on the build. Original paint and stickers with love marks.....
