Well seeing as it is a race bike you want something race light. Z Rims are a good choice, if you can find some. Depends if you are going for a race look or freestyle. That said, yours doesn't have standers on.
If you haven't seen the magical stars floating around whilst lying face down in the mud you ain't lived.
Skyways for show, spokes for go.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON?
Where is everyone at with their projects?
I've been playing with this 02 Federal.
My oldest has been wanting a runaround bike and i picked this up a while back so after some cleaning, swapping and adjusting it is a stout little rig.

This has been occupying all my thoughts lately
A few sets of bars I’ve sod over over the last couple years come back to haunt me in my dreams.
Especially these ones.

Maybe that guy in White Rock will get some back to you? I mean if he was cool he would so we know that probably won't happen.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON?
Long story short
Bought a 98 GT Pro Series XL. Had 1 inch threaded forks but it takes 1 1/8 threadless. Realized that too late and decided buying another beat up GT Pro Series XL was cheaper than buying new forks and stem. Bought the 2nd bike for the parts and ended up getting for a reply from a guy I had messaged earlier about buying a used fork stem combo. Well why not. So then I was 2 full bikes in. Both had awful chipped chrome so why not powder coat them.
Here we are. Picked them up from powder coat today and got as far as I could. I'm not rebuilding them to original or show quality. Just want 2 good bikes to ride and why not have them look nice too. I ordered many replacement bolts to replace the stripped rusty ones, new chain, bearings and things like that. Going to keep the same wheels for now with new tires and the same old pedals, sprockets and cranks. 1 had a really messed up headset so one is getting a new one and the other one just got cleaned up. New seats, brake pads and cables on the same brakes. One is getting a padset and the other full decals. Hopefully they turn out cool butbfor now I'm super happy with the start.
Sidenote: I large package from pork chop was supposed to come today and didn't so I'm pretty bummed I couldn't get further.
