1976 R&R CR-1
Some idiot drilled the matchbox behind the bb for a kickstand and brazed on a brake bridge.

Personally I would fix the problems you mentioned and leave the finish. Nice one GAry. Always wanted one of these.

Re: 1976 R&R CR-1
I really wouldn't worry about a few alterations made at some point in it's history/BITD. I think the brake bridge is pretty cool ~ maybe some kid just didn't want to ride with a crappy coaster-brake anymore so they (or their Dad) did something about it! Bmx evolution...
Ok, I admit, a kick-stand hole might not seem very hardcore (!) but again all part of this frame's unique history
Pretty damn frame...I would love something like this for a Gummo bike...instant fave with the modifications!

Re: 1976 R&R CR-1
Hey Gary
I have a 1976 R&R CR1 that looks just like this. Love it.
But I have question for you or anyone out there. I have a Thruster that looks to be like a 79 Vanishing Point. Only thing is the Top Tube is only 16" Could this be a 78 pre Vanishing point frame??
Most 79 measure 17 1/2 - 18 1/2 inches.
Any idea's
Thanks Bob
