26" Peddlepower tribute on it's way

I'm excited to share that I finally stepped up and pulled the trigger on a run of custom 26" Peddlepower tribute frame sets. They will be built at True Torch (I know, shocker) using US made 4130 tubing. They will use the Powerlite 26" frame geometry but a gusseted frame set with a square brake bridge but with a 1" shorter seat mast and lower top tube. Think "low boy." The other killer thing is I decided to build the Pro style forks so there will be no confusion or people getting taken advantage of. They're going to use a 1" threaded fork and an American bottom bracket. A tribute to my first race bike, a 1977 Peddlepower. They'll be available in the original colors of red, blue and black. I may offer white too if there's a demand. We're going to use original diameter tubing but bump up the wall thickness 1 size in stress areas to provide some extra strength.

This isn't a for sale thread so if you have specific questions, just pm me.

Here's what the Pro forks look like

http://i858.photobucket.com/albums/ab148/brentwheeler1/IMG_4936.jpg

And here's what the frame details look like

http://i858.photobucket.com/albums/ab148/brentwheeler1/IMG_6903_zps938100d4.jpg

So, I think Vinro4416 has a great suggestion for me/ us. He suggested I put all of the pictures on this 1st post so it's easier to follow and see the progress of what I had in mind thru the process of the actual frame sets. It sounds great to me and I hope all appreciate it too. No more scrolling through the pages looking for an actual picture.

The jig mock up. Based on a 3 bar Powerlite geometry. The change is a shorter seat mast and the others are cosmetics.

Re: 26" Peddlepower tribute on it's way

The forks start off round and get ovalized. They will be done the same way. It's been a little bit of a fight but I'm making them almost exact. I'm also going to use a shorter seat mast for a "low boy" look. Going with the same length that we did the Stroker's. I think those are 15-1/2".  That was Johnny's idea. To make it more of a rider. Unless you're tall that is.

Re: 26" Peddlepower tribute on it's way

I'm not going to do any pre-sales, serial number requests or reserving guys. I will make updates on this post when I have more info and you'll be able to see when they will be ready to list for sale. I will give you guys a heads up so you can be primed but that's it. Old school!

Thanks so much for the interest. I'm happy to know I wasn't the only one that thought these would be awesome.
