1983 Schwinn 26

1983 Schwinn 26

I love Schwinns!!

I bought this frame and fork about 5 years ago and wasn't sure what to do with it.  The paint was shot, so I blasted, primed, and painted it bronze metallic.  I'd seen a few BMX Cruisers and got the idea to build one myself.  The only issue is that I couldn't find a rear brake to fit it.  I know at one time someone made an adapter, but I couldn't find one.  I'm still able to cruise with just front brakes.  I really enjoyed this build and the majority of the components and bike itself was bought from members of this site.
Parts include:
ACS Polished Stem
S&M Race Bars
Viscount Dominator seat
Dia Compe 890 brake and lever dated 1984
Yaban Chain
NOS crank and chain wheel
Suntour Freewheel
Victor Pedals
AME Grips
Porkchop Donuts
Flite bar pad and seat cover
New Duro Gumwalls
Schwinn post and clamp

Rear brake should be a 1020... but unless those are lower profile tires than normal, that bridge does look a little far away. Worse come to worst, offset posts are available. Or a 1080, but then you're paying Krate prices...

"World Famous" 1 1/8" threadless to old school BMX headset conversion guy.

Due to the COVID lockdown in CA, I will (usually) only be shipping once per week on 'essential errands' day. Typically this will be Monday.
