1996 Hoffman Condor

My Second Grail

This is a nos frame, and fork I purchaced off a member here. I have always wanted a Condor ever since they came out, and never made the move, but now I have.
I also always liked the flamed decal versions from the mid, late 90's, and when I saw this one in chrome, the devil in my head had to have it. I did think about it for a week though before I made the pm about it.

Here is the parts list for build. This build is done in rider fashion. I like personalizing.
1996 Condor frame
1999 NOS Hoffman Deebo 1 1/8 Super Fork with personalized cut Condor top tube orange/red frame decal that I recieved extra....(Deebo fork used for 1 1/8 conversion, still have the original Condor fork)
Dia Compe polished 883 Nippon front brake
Dia Compe polished AD990 rear brake
Dia Compe Tech 77 locking levers
Odyssey Slick cable front
Oryg SST detangler, and cables
Kool Stop Supra 2 clear brake pads front, and rear.
Tioga Bear Trap II bearing cups with 1 1/8 "Aheadset" parts
Hoffman Bikes NOS Super Stem
GT Chromoly 4 piece handle bars
Hoffman Bikes grips, and Ame bar end savers
25.4 mm stamped chromo unknown brand seat post
Velo padded seat
Formula sealed 36 hole hubs with 3/8 front axle, and 14mm rear axle
Sun chrome plated 36 hole Rhyno rims
DUO Stunner Tires, tan wall, 20 X 1.95 tires.
Mongoose 3/8, and 14mm pegs (wrapped in black grip tape cause it looks cleaner then leaving them in there rough rider condition.) Search for original Hoffman steel tube ride pegs are in the future
GT 4130 chromo 3 piece crank, and b/b
Odyssey Pyro 44t sprocket
EVO black 9/16's pedals
ACS Crossfire 16t freewheel
KMC Z510 chain

Re: 1996 Hoffman Condor

Nice! There's somebody on Craigslists who has a NOS chrome and black one along with a Big Daddy and a Taj. Would've pulled the trigger on the black or chrome Condor but I recently just bought a new frame. Oh well:P

Re: 1996 Hoffman Condor

An update on the Condor. Can check out the details in my musem. cool
In short though, right now i used the seat, and pedals from my GT Agressor to take pictures, and and take if for a ride. I must say i am very pleased with this ride. Very solid, seems a tad heavier then what i am use too, but i'm sure i will get use to it quickly.

Re: 1996 Hoffman Condor

Just wanted to put it out there that so far i've been enjoying my NOS Condor frame, and fork thanks to falloutbmx. Been putting it threw the city "course" as i get myself back up to speed with my skills since the mid/late  90's , and it has put up with it very well so far.

Proof of the battle scars, and worn gear.

Re: 1996 Hoffman Condor

A little update on the Condor.
I've gotten some gifts for Xmas from the wife, and kids this year.

Got  1 1/8 Aheadset, 1 1/8 top Gyro/Oryg plate, Kool Stop Supra 2 brake shoes, then followed by a nos Hoffman Bikes Super Stem, nos '99 Deebo forks,  spare Condor decals, and a little suprise bonus, an extra Condor top tube decal, and Hoffman seat post clamp, thanks to knyy. cool
The wife asked what I would like for Xmas, and the light bulb in my head flashed bright!! big_smile This was my way to get my Condor's steering mechanicals converted to 1 1/8 so I don't expirience stem slip that I was getting when doing certain tricks anymore.Wasn't happenning a lot, but enough that I wanted to stop it.
Now I just need some milder weather to go, and play again.

Here are some pics.

I used the extra Condor top tube decal on the fork blades. I did some custom flame cutting.
