44T Old/Mid/New School BMX Club of DETROIT
Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to rake those bars up, rake those seats back, and make this happen -- DETROIT STYLE!!!
The Detroit area has a great BMX brotherhood who meet up on a semi-regular basis for rides, bbq's and shows. We had an Old School BMX Party at Albe's a few weeks ago, and hung to tell stories, talk about life, and enjoy food. Hence an idea was hatched: Starting a DETROIT area BMX club!
Open to men and women, boys and girls (those who are of an appropriate level of maturity, of course), the purpose of the 44T Old/Mid School BMX Club would be to create and maintain a network of DETROIT area old/mid school BMX riders that would keep members in the loop of what's happening in and around the Motor City regarding our beloved lifestyle/hobby. For example, John (braddlphns) does a fantastic job of organizing many summer rides as well as the Waterford Oaks Show and when he or someone else has an old/mid school-realted acitivity (ride, show, etc.) in the works, 44T would make sure the word got out. 44T would also work to keep the momentum going by organizing rides, shows, etc. on an ongoing basis. While the Museum threads are a great means of communication, the use of other means such as phone calls and emails are also useful, so 44T would like to give its members the option of supplying information such as phone numbers, addresses/locations, etc so that we can keep in touch. If we get this thing going, this could be the result:
Remember....if everyone came to a bike show without a bike, it would just be a bunch of dudes standing around in a park...and that's just creepy! If you've got one, bring one. -Me
If you only do what you can do, you will never be more than you are now.. -Master Shifu

Re: 44T Old/Mid/New School BMX Club of DETROIT
I would like to kick this thread off with a little bit of good news. Congrats to Craig and Paula on their recent engagement!! If you've been to any Detroit or Chicago events in the past year, you have probably met them both. Yes...BOTH! Paula is a BMX chick thru and thru, and she makes it to almost every event. They are seriously 2 of the kindest people I know and I'm happy they found each other. Congrats to the Prince and Princess of the Detroit scene!!
And in not as recent, but certainly no less important news, my true BMX brother, Pete (Hermes33) and his awesome girlfriend Julianne recently brought a new BMX stud into the world! Congrats to them for their beautiful baby boy Ethan
