Re: 1984 Kuwahara Bravo KZ-4

This thing is fantastic!  When I was in 7th grade, I wanted the white and lavender version of this bike.  The local shop had one and a buddy of mine had one too.  He let me ride it at least! smile  Job well done!

Re: 1984 Kuwahara Bravo KZ-4

Thanks to all of you for the good comments ( including those that i have had differences with).  Im glad you guys like and appreciate my build.  Also shout out to ALL that voted and commented on it in the spring build off.  Im stoked to have it complete and cant wait to ride it more.  I ditched the stock odyssey brake pads and am going with some clear pads.  Hoping to get these old brakes working as well as possible.  smile

Re: 1984 Kuwahara Bravo KZ-4

Until I joined this site I had never heard of the brand.  Until I asked what type of bike Elliott rode in E.T.  Lime green...or any vibrant color is an eye turner for me.  I love this bike and I hope you placed in the build-off.

Re: 1984 Kuwahara Bravo KZ-4

KuWa, MAN !

If you EVER want to sell it PLEASE hit me up.
Here's my TRUE story:
Kuwahara Bravo KZ-4 - My First BMX

It was January 1985 and the LBS around the corner had the lime green AND lavender KZ-4's!
It was love at first sight with the green one.
My birthday was a few months away and I went to the LBS AT LEAST 4 times a week looking, touching, and sitting.
I told my Dad about it and how much I wanted it for my bday weekly.
Two weeks before my bday the green one was sold.
I literally went home so upset and heart-broke. I was just sick.
My Dad being the awesome guy he is, never blinked or said word.
THEN, the morning of my bday as I was rubbing eye buggers and headed to the kitchen, THERE IT WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LIVING ROOM! MY GREEN KZ-4!
My Dad came down the hall just laughing and grinning. Teasing me about having a long-face and poked out lips for the last 2 weeks because 'somebody' bought my bike.

I learned to freestyle, even broke my wrist on my KZ-4 and it only have a scratch on the handle bar.
I was the envy of the neighborhood.
I rode her hard for 3yrs then gave her to a little cousin since I was going to be HS senior after the Summer, and I never saw it again.
UNTIL NOW !

You did a great job!
Just keep me in mind if ever you decide.
I can't stop staring! lol
I think I found my new screen saver...........haha
