Re: The Kink appreciation thread

Kevin108-  I might actually have some Defender frame decals.  I have more Kink stickers than anything else, so it might take a bit to sort through the pile.  If that is something you are into, PM me.  I can throw a few in an envelope and send them your way.

Re: The Kink appreciation thread

Came up on a really good condition Crossbolt stem yesterday.  The kid started describing what the stem looked like and I knew exactly what it was (he told me it was a Standard stem because it was on a Standard when he saw it..haha).

freehand painted ...  just went to town on the bars one day years ago... a couple guys that work for me also ride a lot (several times a week) and one of them only has one bike and his driver pawl springs were bad so I let him borrow my kink.  by the end of a session downtown he had me convinced to do the fork and crank too.... so I said screw it and hit them.  me personally I liked just the bars.  I was gunna do it all up in free hand graffiti.  but it's just paint.... I can still go all "turf" on it another day or weekend... lol

Re: The Kink appreciation thread

I just recently painted a clear glow over the sprocket and the stem to make them glow in the dark....the wheels and pedals already do glow.  I'm actually gunna go over all the zebra stripes in the clear glow too... here's couple more pics...

Re: The Kink appreciation thread

Those Redwing bars on pg 1 are amazing. Never seen a set before. I did see Bill Ripken play for the Rochester Redwings when I was in high school though. Word up to a WNY classic turning 20!

Re: The Kink appreciation thread

I only went to one Redwing game when I lived in Rochester.  But it was pretty bad ass.  Really cool backdrop with the city and the buildings and what not.

Does anybody remember the Props commercial where Zack is dancing with out a shirt on in the stadium?  Pretty classic.

Is there any chance any of you have a pair of Freebird forks, or know of someone who does?  Let me know looking to purchase.

And by the way great thread.

Re: The Kink appreciation thread

Kink has some 20 year anniversary stuff cooking up.  I heard rumors that they are going to remake a few of their classic t-shirts and random crap.  I just took a bunch of pictures of all of my old stuff.
