New Profile Water Camo Colorway: Hit or Miss?

What do you think of this one? We've gotten some inquiries and are thinking about carrying some of the parts in this colorway (I like it, personally), but it hasn't proven to be everyone's cup of tea, locally.

Big miss for me. They should have done something more spring related and pretty. No one in their right mind wants to think about winter. And it just kinda looks cheap

Profile should have just followed the crowd and released oil slick editions.

Well with bmx basically just being the same these days you have to....spruce thing sup a bit.

It sounds way more emo jeans to say "check out this new colorway", than to say "check out this new color"

Just sayin man....

The color combo just makes it look like peeling color over aluminum...

Re: New Profile Water Camo Colorway: Hit or Miss?

I really thought they would jump on the oil slick/jet fuel bandwagon, too. I understand a company's need to stay fresh and remain relevant, but at a certain point it starts becoming overkill. Maybe Odyssey is to blame? Even they have come down quite a bit on the numbers of parts they release with each  new color. Apparently this camo option and the army green are going to be very limited in numbers.

Thanks for the honest museum feedback; yes-men kill everything in the end.

I don’t know how the application process works for the pattern style anodizing. However it presents some interesting possibilities, such as stems that resemble a closed fist, or a face. Hubs with skulls or snake skin or? The idea of having whatever printed on your components can really go many directions, in Profiles case they could stylize their logo and print it in large fashion and it would be cool. I hope to see some more variety in the future.  cool

I'm not sure of the process, either (a quick search would probably clear that mystery-up), but I'm wondering when a company is going to go with custom finishing on the parts, like we have the custom frame, fork and bar fabrication. I love Profile's craftsmanship--and have been a fan of the Madera line--but there is never going to be unanimous consensus on colors or aesthetic. It sucks for the dealers that have to hedge their bets and end-up with leftover stock that never sells.

And as for camo??? Camo in general is out. It was only briefly cool a few years ago. I would say its day is long past.

I think Profile needs to worry about why Roy Munson's hub flange tore-away than Limited Edition colors...loltonguecool

The " Military Green " line is my favorite so far . cool

I'm going with gators on my new wheels. Empire is holding a set for me. Still waiting on my taxes.

And yes profile does need to beef up the flanges a bit. I could deal with a extra ounce
