1979 Powerlite JR

Super clean early mini.

I bought this here from RaynalRacing as a partial, mostly for the OG Powerlite/DG stem that was on it (currently on a another build.) This was originally raced by his brother, and then refurbished by his dad in the mid-late '80's for him to race. This is why the bike has newer bars, seat, spc, and later-gen decals. I laced the 7Cs up to '83 dated Suzue LF hubs and used some repop Cheng Shins - still looking for appropriate tires. I love looking at this bike, and it's an integral part of my collection as I'm working toward having complete examples of each of the early gusseted 20" Powerlite frame types.

Friggin BAD ASS bike!!! Lol. I miss her! Not sure on the stem. I'm so used to the DG/Powerlite stem on it. Glad to see it mostly original.

That stem will always ultimately remain with this bike, but for right now, I'm rebuilding my candy red '79 standard frame, and the gold looks KILLER on it. Besides, I have a soft spot for the SRs as I still have the one on my Mongoose I traded for BITD.

Sorry man, I know it must look odd to you, but I'm sure I'll eventually put it back on this one. I'm sure I'll upgrade the wheelset back up close to what you had on it, too, I just wanted to have it complete. Thanks again for the bike! cool
