Re: anyone build a 26" Klunker? show me

I really want to build something cool out of it but im not a gears guy.  :/Is this frame even sought after?I would love to clean it all up and single speed it.Maybe run some roller brakes if the posts are the right size.

Re: anyone build a 26" Klunker? show me

I doubt it. Basically it's a Sidewinder with canti mounts, and falls under the much maligned "Schwinn missed the boat with MTB's" trope. I'd go boardtracker with it as it will take nice fat tires and just because one of those is on my someday list. Maybe weld in a second top tube or arch truss, but alas that's another site smile

SS cruiser like Matt suggested.. Some 7x Arays or Ukai's with some beefy cruiser tires and Kos's bars on it.. I can picture it allready..

Re: anyone build a 26" Klunker? show me

The board tracker style is cool for cruising but I like to jump and do stupid stuff!  tongue

Ive got a set of polished 1.75 Araya 7Cs and some ACS hubs.Maybe a SS build with all ACS parts and a snowflake sprocket.i think I might ditch the cable guides and smooth it all out. Also keep the og fork or go with the sidewinder fork?Kinda like the og since it has the matching canti mounts.   hmm

Lemurian. Been looking for one local for a while, but got too much going on to run up there as well.

Hey Frank, I think your KHS is a 'Sundancer' model. They also had a 'Sidewinder-type' version of the 'Sundancer. Super cool ride with Mr. Tick's bars!

Re: anyone build a 26" Klunker? show me

Found me a doner bike for wheels (Araya 7X) in great shape with sunshine hubs, I passed on some Ukai speed lines about a month ago because they needed work so was glad to find this.. I think I'll keep the gears for the Rear and use the Sugino GT cranks also, tires are cyclepro tread is good but sides are dry..

Would be tough for me to part out the Schwinn.  That one looks to be in fantastic shape.
