Re: anyone build a 26" Klunker? show me
Im in this hobby for the nostalgia. Most of my bikes are ongoing projects.
My day-to-day riding consists of commuting, bar-hopping and mountain biking.

Re: anyone build a 26" Klunker? show me
Just got back from a 8 mile ride on some sweet single track. The trail has about 300
Feet of elevation change and flows really well. This was my first off road coaster brake
Ride in 30 years and I can't believe how much fun it was! The gears shifted smoothly
In the Nexus seven speed hub. It was surprisingly easy to stay on top of the brake and
I only hit the pedals a couple times even with 180 cranks. I've got that new bike buzz!
Don't be that guy!

Re: anyone build a 26" Klunker? show me
My old man took his '49 Schwinn a little new school. Nexus inter-8, nexus dynamo up front, both will roller brakes, PC'd hot pink (gods know why), internally routed cables. Ignore the goofy seat, this was his first ride after prostate surgery...
Collecting the parts to build one now from a '67 Schwinn Fleet just to use the Slimline tank- I just nerdy enough to want a klunk with a tank and am dying to use these bars on something (note the desperate plea for Atom hubs in my sig, hint hint)

Re: anyone build a 26" Klunker? show me
Those bars are 71 Hodaka bars 31" wide and a little crusty.
The frame is '37 Schwinn Motorbike
Speedster crank and sprocket
Tange fork
Schwinn headset
NOS Ukai 26 x 2.125 rims
Bendix red band rear
NOS ACS front hub
Cheng Shin studded knobbies
AME grips
Brookes Professional saddle
Nickel chain
I bought the stem in '92 with a bunch of stingray parts and it finally landed on this build. Here it is before I cleaned it up. There has been a some discussion among my friends about what it is .Any opinions?

Re: anyone build a 26" Klunker? show me
well, based on the double seat tube clamps, I'd say it was a 'medical' maryjajuana state?
I'd guess it's just a 1" nut from some sort of industrial/aircraft app which required insane enough torque to be fine thread or a lug nut from a Kenworth or something.
