I have never even seen an Ozone in person yet - always wanted one BITD but never had a chance to even see or ride one.  I would love to see what they were actually like, though I'm only riding new school stuff now too so I can appreciate your intent to make a new school rider inspired by the original Ozone design.  I'm cool with that.  smile  I don't have the interest or resources to attempt to produce some kind of exact replica tribute build - I'd want a new school version of it too.

The Ozone Method One has always been stuff of legends.  People get giddy around here when you bring up the subject.  tongue

no drama or disrespect intended here...
I certainly wouldn't want to whore out an Ozone and/or see it mass produced.  I'm not sure if you've seen some of the one-off trickstar inspired bikes that have been made by Standard, but the few that exist are an homage to the trickstar frame with modern tech and conveniences.  as for the geometry, I've been told that the Ozone frame itself (not the forks), as well as the Haro Ground Master, were the best riding flatland bikes of their generation.  so an oldschool fool who still wants to ride like it's 1990 would probably love the geometry.   I hope this helps explain what I meant.....since I will likely never own a real ozone, I would consider paying twice as much to have a similar (but not exact) frame made.  I know what you mean about whoring it out though.....I would puke on my own feet if I saw Ozone's being mass produced year after year, next thing you know they'd be making 26"er's and 29er's  tongue

How am I seeing this just now?!?!  good luck on your venture Bob! I know you'll do it up right!!!!

Building old "trick bikes", but NOT doing "tricks" on them is just as bad as building old muscle cars but not driving or racing them.  They have a name for those kind of people...

Re: *******Holy OZONE Insanity!!!.....A New-school Ozone is BORN!*********

Looking good bro!

I love how you had the bend made well past the seat tube area......this is one key note that a lot of new school frames do not have, including the Subrosa DTT (bend is right at the seat tube). Having the bend well after the seat tube opens up the area inside the frame behind the seat tube to get your feet in there for old school tricks like cherrypickers and such. I know the Ozone is set up this way too.

I drew another set of blueprints a few months ago for my next custom frame also.......a double top tube one based off a combo of the Subrosa DTT and the RL20II........it will be a while before I have it built though, I'm enjoying my Itson Pro Model very much now.

Looking forward to more pics.
