1992 Haro Master

Spent so much time and money on fixing it, decided to keep & build it up to my liking.

This is a Master built in 91 for 92 release.  Last Master before the BIG tubes...
Got this in a purchase of a bunch of frames and parts a member in WI was unloading.  Sold all but this one on feeBay.
There were cracks/holes by rear drop-out and there were holes in the top of seat tube for some reason.  A friend thought he could fix it and paint it like a non-chromed frame, against my advice. There was the remnants of paint and scratches and scuffs all over it. Got it fixed up by the FrameDoc, he did a great job and he is only a few miles from me. Thanks to this site and the rad dudes on here; got many parts together for it quicker than expected.  smile
Had it powdered flat black, since I am not a fan of the all chrome look anyway.  I scored some nice 92 decals from another member here I thought I would never find!  Thanks man!!
Had issue after issue getting a hold of the 92 forks...finally got them!!!Finally found some knee-savers, too!
Now, in 2017, I changed around some parts to modernize it a bit.
Mixed some old/mid and new school to make like a franken-Haro.  I think it refreshed it nicely.
Added a splash of blue here & there to match the decals.

Picked up some NOS Suzue sealed-tech hubs and the proper Ukai 48s for this.  Took weeks to restore the rims but they turned out great!

Thanks for looking!

Re: 1992 Haro Master

I'm liking the flat black Chris. The 1 decal already makes a difference, will look much better once you apply them all.

Thanks, yeah I like it too.  It took me a while to put the decal on, I've never done it on the round tube before, took over an hour since I took my time to do it right. lol  Also, there are a lot of little bubbles in it, I thought it was due to me applying decal wrong.  Seems now that it is actually from little "pits" in the powder layer either from local powder guy, or most likely since I had a stripping shop rough up the chrome 1st.  I should have had it stripped off completely and/or had it all done by same shop… oh well, I know for next time. big_smile

It still looks really nice, especially since I got those decals from you.  Thanks again!  It is exceeding my expectations and they were high.  LOL  I do like the 92 decal set better than the others.  More clean look.

I am glad to hear from TeamHaro that Haro is finally releasing the original decals up to 1992 soon!  Should be, anyway.  That'll be sweet!

I will save up money to have the frame redone right by chip @ C4 in the future.  Still flat black, of course. wink

I got a set of Haro blue dart tires, used, but will still look fine for pics and riding around a bit.  Can use Snake Belly treads when needed.  Also, will need them for StreetStyler when I do not want the white tires to look black.  Haha

Thanks for looking!

Re: 1992 Haro Master

Got the rest of the decals on there.

I think I will use the 87 Master decals for forks.  White text with blue chevron on chrome stock.

This will fit the 86 forks better and help disguise the pitting, in that area at least. lol

If anyone happens across a 92 Master fork, let me know please. smile

Hope to get the cables and everything together soon.  Waiting on NOS Gyro from China…

Thanks for looking!

Yeah, I like the feel of the 92 frame.  Harder to find, though, so had to settle for this one that needed repairs.  At least I was able to get one. big_smile

I am more than pleased with the outcome.  Now all I need is to find a 92 fork...

Thanks for your comment!  I like the look of your 87 Master, especially those blue wall tires. cool

I prefer matte/flat look, but definitely not a fan of all chrome.  I used the flat black as a contrast to chrome, like a negative, so to speak.
cool
