1982 Powerlite 3 Bar 26

This frame set took forever to get right. The chain stays were rusted through so Johnny replaced them. The fork actually used to belong to Chip Foose.

I had it powdered but the color was off a little so I hand sanded the powder off and had Sherwin Williams Auto Paint match a NOS fork to get the color right. The first time I sprayed it, I didn't have enough pressure in my gun and the primer came out terrible but I went ahead and squirted the color. I figured I could color sand it smooth. Wrong! I ended up stripping and re-spraying the frame set which was way faster than color sanding them. It sounds like you've put quite a bit of work into this one already. Can't wait to see it finished. cool

Thanks. My goal was to have each color 26 that Powerlite offered and this is the final one. It's the 2nd blue color that Powerlite used. It wasn't really available until around 1980 or 81 if I remember correctly. Anyway, I have a NOS fork that I was able to match. It's not available in powder and there is no name for it.

Glad to see that the frame was saved.

Thanks Dale. Me too.
