Customer complaint was that the Bassett stems come with "ugly" wedge bolts. So I procured stainless hardware, removed the lettering/numbering, and polished it! A little paint detail to boot.

Charlie, how did you remove the excess paint around where you highlighted the lettering but keep the beautiful polished finish?


1983 Mongoose - Undergoing restoration.

1983 Pk Ripper Frame / Fork - Fork is mint chrome and I am restoring the bare frame.
1981 PK Ripper Frame - White powder coated. Building a blue / white 2013 Looptail bike.

I allow the paint to dry to a tacky state, then I pull a lent free cloth over my finder dampened with paint thinner and wipe away the excess paint. Paint stays in the grooves.
