Yep it’s awesome, feels just like a Profile Z Coaster, but at the fraction of the price.
https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-image … 0ea92.jpegI heard that... is that your BD?
Yep that’s my BD when I was building it, I only went with the FEC coaster because it came in 48h and have been pleasantly surprised at how super light and responsive it is.

Re: Freecoaster fans!!!
I’m building a coaster brake wheel for my next bike, but have an extra matching rim to also build FC wheel. The FEC, Z-coaster, and BSD all peak my interest for different reasons. Ideally I need to ride each one for a few minutes.
I think if I went for a non-clutch style FC, I would want cassette engagement and ability to pedal-out of rollbacks. I don’t know if anything offers this.

Re: Freecoaster fans!!!
Anyone know what FC hub this is (2021 Haro Midway FC)? I got this bike for my son for Christmas - it is amazing bang for the buck, and the FC cassette engagement is super nice and quick.

Haro Site says, “ Alloy Shell Freecoaster, 36h, Sealed Bearing”. I really like this hub.

Pretty sure that's the same hub that Fit uses on their completes and sells as a separate wheelset. Might even be the same wheelset with a different sticker.
If so, it's similar to an older KHE hub. I have the Fit set and have had no issues with it after almost a year and a half.

Probably the same technology from Freenight... just licensed to them like KHE did for everyone. I gotta check that out.

Re: Freecoaster fans!!!
When the new FC's say "no gap", this simply means no gap in forward/cassette mode, correct? No relation to rolling backwards and attempting to pedal-pressure-out, where there has to be a gap, no?
Just trying to keep a short list of FC's I'd like to try...

Yes they mean the delay in forward pedaling as found in a standard freewheel depending on the teeth inside the freewheel you have to rotate forward enough for the teeth to engage, some cheap ones with low tooth count can result in a 1/4 turn of the front crank resulting in slop pedaling.
These are designed to engage forward the very moment you start pedaling forward, with no forward freewheeling waiting for the engagement.

Any that use Pawls would work, planetary styles advise you not to, so just 180 out and youll be good.
