Barn fresh goodness - last saw the light of day in 1986 - rare early Cook brought back from the dead to ride another day
This is my Barn Fresh 1979 Cook Bros. Racing 26" Cruiser - I literally was looking for a front tubular fork in a friends barn in the sticks & Found the Cook frame still attached to it - Rolled out to the barn in 1986 with three four colors of bad paint & flash rust all over goodness that I embraced - I went though the bearings with fresh grease & new tubes & vintage tires - trued the wheels - new brake pads & down on the 2nd Stand Cruiser ride in Long Beach October 5th 2013 -- Maiden voyaged & she rode like a dream - a keeper for sure
* Cooks Frame & Fork
* Dura Ace Pat Pending Headset
* Dura Ace Pat Pending Hubs
* Dura Ace 6 speed Pat Pending rear derailleur w/ adapter that fits into the frames drop outs w/o any mods to frame
* Gold anno Araya 7X rims with flaking black powder coated spokes
* Gold anno Tourney rear brake with Vans brake pads that I added along with the Van Sole Shoe patterned grips
* Gold anno pat. pending Tuff Neck stem
* Gold anno Laguna Pro Alloy bars with the curved cross brace
* Gold anno early BMX style Shimano 600 3 piece crankset & chainring
* Gold anno KKT Lightning pedals
* Brooks B72 seat
* Early Shimano brake lever w/ raw cable housing clamped on with Shimano frame clamps & cable guides

Thanks guys .. I left it the way I found it since it's the only "barn fresh" Cooks I have heard of & who else would ride it the way it sits - well besides me ... I have crusty old Schwinn's & other 1930's - 50's Balloon Bicycles I enjoy riding the same way all year round in SoCal along the beach on any given weekend - Ride Vintage - Frank
